Austin Blair Camp No. 7 - Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) is the second oldest Camp in the Department of Michigan.

What We do:

Memorials:
Participating in Memorial Day events, Veterans Day services, grave marker dedications for Civil War soldiers, and educational programs such as Jackson’s Civil War Muster held annually the end of August at Cascade Falls Park. https://civilwarmuster.org/


Preservation:
Protecting local Civil War history monuments and records in the Jackson area.

The Department of Michigan was chartered on June 24, 1884. There are 20 Camps and over 350 members throughout both of Michigan's peninsulas representing the interests of the Grand Army of the Republic and honoring the memory of those who "wore the blue" in defense of our nation.

Donations to the Department of Michigan - Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, its Camps, or Sons of Veterans Reserve Units operating within the Department of Michigan, are 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Status and Tax deductible.

Who We Are:

Austin Blair Camp 7 was chartered in 1914

under the sponsorship of the Edward 

Pomeroy Post No. 48,

Grand Army of the Republic (GAR). 


We are named after the Governor of Michigan 

during the American Civil War, Austin Blair. 


The Camp meets on the second Monday in the 

months of: February, March, April, May, July, 

August, September, October, and November. 


Meetings are held starting at 7:00 PM at the 

American Legion Post 29, 3200 Lansing Ave.,

Jackson, Michigan  49203
